The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accounting Officer with exceptional technical abilities to join our small yet dynamic Finance team. The Senior Accounting Officer will work closely with the Finance Director and Financial Controller, playing a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company and ensuring compliance with accounting standards as we navigate through an exciting phase of growth. This role presents an excellent opportunity for rapid learning and potential advancement to the position of Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, accurately recording financial transactions in the general ledger, monitoring cash flow, preparing and reviewing financial reconciliations, reporting
• Assist in the timely delivery of month-end closing (P&L & Balance sheet), reporting packages and account reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of statutory filings, and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings
• Actively identify opportunities for process improvements and drive the adoption of automation technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insights and recommendations
• Assist the Finance Director with ad-hoc analysis and projects to support forecasting, strategic planning and decision making

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years working experience in Finance/ Accounting field – Big 4 experience is a plus 
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred)
• Strong technical accounting skills including deep knowledge and understanding of accounting standards (i.e. IFRS)
• Excellent English language skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must, experience with Microsoft Dynamics and PowerBI is a plus but not required
• Proven track record of ownership and accountability in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in cryptocurrency accounting is a plus
